My Wellness Center is an offshoot of the Maya Wellness Center, a nonprofit rooted in traumatic birth and originally dedicated to supporting homeless pregnant women. 

Although we’ve grown to support a much wider cross-section of the community, we’re still deeply passionate about supporting pregnant individuals.

Our Perinatal Therapy Techniques

Our perinatal therapists use a variety of techniques to help pregnant women and new parents tackle the challenges of pregnancy and parenthood. 

Our perinatal therapy techniques: 

  • ACT - Acceptance and Commitment Therapy works to accept and deal with negative thoughts, feelings, symptoms, and circumstances while committing to healthy, constructive activities.
  • CBT - Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a form of talk therapy that focuses on modifying emotions, behaviors, and thoughts through talk therapy. 
  • DBT - Dialectical Behavior Therapy is a technique commonly used for mood disorders and changing behavioral patterns. 
  • Education - Many of our clients are in search of answers about changes surrounding pregnancy, birth, and adulthood. 
  • Planning - This is especially important for preparing your mind, emotions, home, and surroundings for the birth of your child and the changes that will come afterward.
